2008-2009
Employer: Beerestein
Tasked to set up new business unit besides service management, by, for and through technicians. This would have enabled Beerestein to act as one-stop-shop for IT services for both new and existing customers. Additionally the dependency on KPN would be somewhat alleviated.

Advise storage migration Lotus Notes infrastructure PwC Netherlands using Sun kit, upgrading Storedge 3000 by 6540/6140 and VTL 2.0, upgrading Netbackup on the side.
KPN - SDU ING
Initial role: set up ING outsourcing contract reporting. On my questions as to what needed reporting, when and to whom the answer was that needed sorting out, some three years into a running contract. Much research lead to inability of KPN systems to supply required metrics to fulfill ING contractual obligations.
The giant leap to introduce the required changes was not made, causing one after another SLM to come out of meetings with ING crying their eyes out. To support service management, a new framework was installed with tons of dashboards. Small problem overlooked in this; metrics were provided by inadequate existing systems in service- and product catalog.

Competa has got close ties with oilers PetroCanada & Shell, having built a Linux distribution for an exploration site in Libya in 2001.
Anyone who's actually read a EULA know about GEC countries, of which Libya is one. This means you can not export encryption techniques like 3Des to it, meaning you have to sift through each and every line of source code and stand by to be scrutinized by CIA. In the end this still has to work and perform as a stable platform...
